Why you need a BIN
Under the VAT and Supplementary Duty Act 2012, businesses above the prescribed turnover, importers, exporters and certain goods and service providers must hold a VAT registration (BIN). A BIN is also usually needed for tenders, imports and exports, and regular dealings with large companies.
Documents usually required
- Company e-TIN certificate
- National ID and photo of the owner or directors
- Up-to-date trade licence
- Proof of business address (rent agreement or title deed)
- Business bank account details
- For companies: certificate of incorporation, memorandum and articles
- For importers or exporters: IRC/ERC, if available
The list can vary with the type of business. We check your papers before applying.
How we work
- Check documents and list anything missing
- Complete and submit the online application (Mushak-2.1) on vat.gov.bd
- Help with officer queries or inspection if needed
- Receive the registration certificate (Mushak-2.3) and explain next steps
Amendment and cancellation
Changes in address, business type, bank account or ownership must be updated. When a business closes, pending returns and tax must be settled before applying to cancel. We help with both.
